Management Department Chair/Head

Position: Department Chair

Rank: Associate or Full Professor

Assignment: Louisiana Tech University seeks innovative and engaging candidates with strong reputation and experience commensurate with the position. The department chair is expected to engage in scholarly research leading to publication in top-level journals; teach classes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; engage and lead doctoral students; facilitate and support faculty development; collaborate on research with other faculty; effectively manage department resources; and build the reputation of the department. The Chair/Head is a 12-month position and reports directly to the Dean of the College of Business.

Position status: Subject to final budgetary approval, effective start date: July 2017.

Qualifications:  Ph.D. or DBA in management from an AACSB International accredited program with an emphasis in Human Resource Management and/or Organizational Behavior. Proven research productivity is required.

Locale: Louisiana Tech is Tier 1, National Research University located on the I-20 corridor in Ruston Louisiana, a city with a population of 22,000, which is 30 miles west of Monroe/West Monroe (Pop. 65,000) and 70 miles east of Shreveport/Bossier City (MSA Pop. 439,00). The University is home to approximately 12,500 students supported by programming in five academic Colleges. Accredited by AACSB International, The College of Business at Louisiana Tech University serves approximately 1300 students enrolled in one of our eight undergraduate majors, the MBA, Macc, or Doctoral program.  Through market responsive academic programs and impactful scholarship and teaching, The College graduates business and academic leaders who are innovative, entrepreneurially minded, and analytically and technologically skilled for a globally competitive marketplace. The College of Business in housed in a 4 year old 42,000 square foot facility with a new 20,000 square foot wing under construction.  With eight full-time faculty and approximately 250 majors, the Department of Management offers the Management Major with concentrations in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resources Management, as well as the Sustainable Supply Chain Management Major.
