Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering. Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and demonstrate high-quality teaching and research potential. Licensed engineers with structural design experience are preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of advanced structural analysis and concrete/steel design of structural systems, develop an effective program of externally funded research, advise M.S. and Ph.D. students, and engage in university, professional and program service activities. There are opportunities for collaborative research with current Civil and Mechanical Engineering faculty members performing ongoing research with the Southern Plains Transportation Center and the Trenchless Technology Center. Louisiana Tech’s structural testing facilities include an array of screw-driven and servo-hydraulic testing systems as well as a strong floor facility equipped with 120-kip and 350-kip horizontal actuators and with a 250-kip vertical actuator.
