LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY
Assistant Professor in Architectural Design

Position:  The School of Design at Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates to fill one tenure-track teaching position at the rank of assistant professor beginning September 2017 pending budgetary approval. The primary teaching responsibilities will include instruction in upper-level undergraduate design studios. Additional consideration will be given for the ability to teach support coursework in one or more of the following areas: architectural history & theory, urban design, and tectonic assemblies. Additional responsibilities will include advising students, serving on departmental and school committees, and engage in related university service and outreach.

Qualifications:  Candidates must have a professional degree in architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch) and demonstrate the potential for executing an agenda of research and/or creative work. Previous teaching and professional practice experience are required; professional licensure or a Ph.D. is preferred. Particularly, we encourage candidates with an interest in multi-disciplinary research and collaborations.

Institutional Background:  The Architecture Program is an academic unit within the School of Design and College of Liberal Arts, which offers a pre-professional B.S. Architectural Studies degree, a NAAB accredited Master of Architecture degree. The Architecture Program is committed to providing a comprehensive and uncompromising, balanced and demanding education in the art, craft and practice of ethical building through the polytechnic tradition of "hands-on" experiences and empirical learning that prepares an individual to be an architect in the fullest sense of the term.
