Louisiana Tech University, a Division 1-A member of Conference USA is seeking applications for the position of Assistant AD-Business Operations. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Bachelor’s degree is required. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics, business operations and human resources is preferred.
Responsible for effective and efficient operations of athletic department business office. Ensure all areas of the athletics department demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, C-USA, Louisiana Tech and the State of Louisiana rules and regulations. Check all purchase requisitions and travel expense accounts for athletics personnel for accuracy in preparation, coding, and to make sure State Board and NCAA rules are adhered to. Provide timely budget reports to the AD and CFO as needed on status of accounts and projections for future expenditure impacts on various accounts. Review expenditures requests throughout the year, including travel requests, operating and supplies, equipment purchases, and professional services requests. Responsible for coordinating information to submit Adidas orders for game uniforms, equipment and supplies for all athletic teams. Assist coaches and staff in interpretation of state regulations regarding travel, purchasing, bidding, etc. Assist with travel arrangements for team travel airfare and lodging. Assist with travel arrangements for recruiting and recruits to campus. Monitor repayment of cash advances for team travel and work closely with coaches to ensure timely repayment of these advances to the Office of the Comptroller. Balance cash advances on a monthly basis. Coordinates athletic competition contracts; assists with game management, athletic fundraising and athletic department social events. Performs administrative functions such as travel reports, supply requisitions, check request forms. Prepares Affirmative Action packets for administrative staff and head coaches; as well as, coordinates all departmental Human Resource forms. Responsible for the upkeep of all athletic department administrative files, independent contracts and personnel files. Including supervision of up to two (2) staff persons. Operates a Dell or similar computer with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, QuickBooks, WordPerfect, and Firefox.
Knowledge of book keeping, with regards to budgets, is essential. Being able to work with the public daily is of the upmost importance.
