Grants Administrative Coordinator
The Institute for Micromanufacturing (IfM) at Louisiana Tech University is seeking applications for a Grants Administrative Coordinator (GAC). The Grants Administrative Coordinator holds a 12-month, non-faculty appointment. The GAC carries out the administrative support functions of the IfM, including all facets of fiscal, purchasing, and accounting requirements and needs.
Qualifying Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required. In addition, professional experience in accounting, finance, auditing, or a related field is desirable. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be proficient with the computer-based accounting tools.
The selected applicant will be expected to: 1) develop and implement proper accounting procedures, and carry out day-to-day accounting functions for all funds, grants, contracts, and other accounts; 2) monitor and process various transactions, and determine and report updated revenues and expenditures on a regular basis; 3) review and monitor purchases, spending, and receipts for all funds, grants, contracts, and other accounts on a routine basis, assessing and reporting with respect to budgets, projections and expectations; 4) develop and maintain computer-based databases and records for various entities, (e.g. funds and accounts), accurately reflecting the transactions made, including for funds received, drawn, and disbursed; 5) review, coordinate, and prepare transaction documents, financial statements, fiscal reports, and budgets (including budgets for operating funds, grant/contract proposals, and financial reports); 6) prepare, process, and monitor appropriate documentation, including appointment request forms, purchase orders, travel requests, and time-sheets; 7) monitor and communicate on a regular basis, any accounting, purchasing, budgetary, and other related matters with appropriate personnel and offices both within and outside the University, and resolve any related problems in a timely and responsible manner; 8) keep abreast of advancements in areas of work responsibilities (e.g. accounting and purchasing), maintain a high degree of expertise, provide training to other personnel, and serve as an advisor; 9) actively contribute to the IfM in meeting its mission as a Center for Excellence in micro and nano-manufacturing; 10) work closely with other personnel and take on new responsibilities, as necessary.
