Project-Based Learning Specialist
College of Engineering and Science

The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a Project-Based Learning Specialist. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any field and be enthusiastic about helping students and faculty engaged in project-based learning (PBL). The PBL Specialist will ensure that parts, tools, supplies, kits, equipment and software are ready for use in our courses. Duties will include purchasing, managing inventory, assembling kits, and distributing items to support PBL to students and faculty. This is a service-oriented position, and a cheerful spirit of helpfulness in assisting students and in meeting the evolving needs of PBL courses is required.

The PBL Specialist will also support two academic programs, including Industrial Engineering and Electrical Engineering Technology. The duties associated with this component of the position will include processing purchase orders, work orders, travel authorizations, reimbursements, student employment certifications, faculty appointment requests, hiring packages, timesheets, course schedules, textbook requests, classroom assignments, and other documents to support these academic programs. The PBL Specialist will directly support faculty and students and will frequently interact with other offices across campus. The successful candidate will be expected to become proficient in using MS Office and the electronic information systems utilized at Louisiana Tech University.
