Executive Director of Communications and Marketing
Louisiana Tech seeks a dynamic and creative professional interested in leading and directing the Communications and Marketing Department. The Executive Director is responsible for managing the primary marketing, public relations and communications activities in support of the strategic and enrollment goals of the university. This individual is primarily responsible for university message development, brand development, image consistency and both traditional and web-based marketing and publications. The successful candidate must have superior communication, organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills; progressive supervisory experience in activities related to university positioning, brand identity, athletic sports information; significant knowledge in cultivating national and local media contacts; and experience in directing the preparation of news releases and public service announcements. The Executive Director reports to the President and is responsible for all marketing/public relations on campus and for coordinating with University Advancement, Alumni Relations, Athletics, as well as with other key directors and administrators.
The successful candidate must have the ability to serve as an articulate spokesperson for the mission and values of the institution, be available for weekend travel and night hours, and have experience managing a highly functional and demanding department.
A proven track record in success of integrated media relations, marketing and communications, and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the administration of a communications or related workforce are required. An earned Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, English, or related field is also required.
