Counselor/  Assistant Director of Wellness & Education
Position Announcement


As Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), assist students through individual and group counseling for educational, career and personal concerns, including appropriate assessment administration, maintaining confidential records, and providing crisis intervention as needed.

This position will direct the wellness and education program, and provide supervision and guidance for the LPC Counselor / Coordinator of Student Relations (campus outreach programing) and the LPC Counselor / Coordinator of Alcohol & Other Drug Education / Prevention (implementation and coordination of the Alcohol and Other Drug Education program)

The position will facilitate the total development of students by reducing psychological problems and distress and by enhancing mental health, well-being, quality of life, and optimal functioning, through the delivery of high quality, culturally sensitive wellness and education services to LA Tech students/ campus community.

Promote student recruitment and retention through alcohol & other drug research and promotion of wellness and good decision making programing to perspective students and parents.

Requirements
Master’s degree in counseling or related field; hold a state Professional Counselor License (required); five years of counseling experience; hold a supervision certification or be an eligible candidate for certification; knowledge or experience in the field of alcohol and other drug education; knowledge or understanding related to outreach and marketing; experience with college/university population; skills needed also include strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with students, university faculty/staff, and community members.
