ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR TECHNICAL OPERATIONS

Louisiana Tech University seeks an experienced professional for the position of Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Technical Operations.  This individual will work in a hands-on mode and be responsible for the smooth, accurate, and efficient operation of the automated systems and software utilized to provide timely federal financial awards and funds to Louisiana Tech University applicants. The individual is expected to gain a basic understanding of financial aid and its processes.  The individual will also be responsible for collaborating with other sections and external agencies on the operation of the automated financial aid systems and for developing more efficient, automated-supported procedures. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Financial Aid.  A more detailed position description is available on request.

Minimum qualifications for the position are: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; CS, CIS, or Business.  In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (2008 and 2012) and Windows 7 operating systems, SQL programming; website design, development and maintenance including HTML, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Javascript, Microsoft IIS 7 Server.  PHP a plus.  Database management knowledge including database backup and restore, creating and monitoring scheduled jobs, stored procedures, etc.  File server & web server management using IIS 7.5 and IIS 8.0 experience preferred. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 knowledge preferred.  Ability to prepare files in various formats for import/export to and from a SQL database.  Ability to create SQL scripts to assist with reporting, problem resolution and data integrity.  T-SQL programming knowledge preferred.  Knowledge of all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel.  Familiarity with document imaging concepts and procedures.  Experience in Hyper-V virtualization, active directory, and group policy management. Solid organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.  Must be able to work as a team member in offices with varying functions.

PowerFAIDS and financial aid experience preferred. Knowledge of Perceptive ImageNow and Admissions Office functions a plus.
