TENURE TRACK FACULTY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Louisiana Tech University’s College of Engineering and Science invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Chemical Engineering program. Academic requirements include Ph.D. and undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering or closely aligned area. Excellence in teaching is required, and candidates must have the ability to develop and sustain an externally funded research program. Outstanding candidates in all research areas are encouraged to apply, although special emphasis will be given to candidates whose research leverages the University’s excellent experimental and computational resources in Nano/Micro/Biotechnology and also in STEM education research. Louisiana Tech’s 41,000 sq. ft. Institute for Micromanufacturing (IfM) supports research labs and cleanroom space equipped with state-of-the art microfabrication and nanofabrication equipment and characterization tools. The 52,000 sq. ft. Biomedical Engineering Complex houses research labs and core equipment facilities for the interdisciplinary Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Science (CBERS). Our Integrated STEM Education Research Center (ISERC) is an interdisciplinary center bringing together faculty and resources in the sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, education, and business that serves as a catalyst for future research in engineering and science education at Louisiana Tech and throughout the nation. A $37M 128,000 sq. ft. building dedicated to freshman/sophomore science and engineering integrated education is currently in the detailed design phase, with ground breaking expected this academic year. Louisiana Tech houses one of the five nodes that comprise the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI), providing a total of 85 teraflops of supercomputing power to affiliated researchers.
Louisiana Tech University is a US News Tier 1 National University with an enrollment of over 12,000 students. The Chemical Engineering program at Louisiana Tech University is an ABET accredited program with a growing undergraduate enrollment of over 300 undergraduate students. The strong presence of chemical, petro-chemical, and pulp-paper companies in the Gulf Coast region ensures the importance of Louisiana Tech’s Chemical Engineering program to the state and region providing excellent job placement and student internship opportunities. The College has a total of over 130 Ph.D. students in four programs (Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Analysis and Modeling, and Molecular Science and Nanotechnology) and over 200 M.S. students. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the College, Chemical Engineering faculty have advised students from all four Ph.D. programs.
The University campus is located in Ruston, Louisiana (population ~25,000) with centralized access to the larger metropolitan areas in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Applicants are encouraged to send a cover letter, a curriculum vita, a teaching philosophy statement, a research program summary, and contact information for three current references to:
