FACULTY LECTURER INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

Applications are invited for a lecturer in the Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering Technology Program within the College of Engineering and Science (COES) at Louisiana Tech University. Faculty in the COES are currently shifting the focus of the Electrical Engineering Technology Program into the area of Instrumentation and Controls Systems Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will be expected to help shape the specifics of this program by contributing to the development of relevant student projects, hands-on laboratory experiences and application-focused curricula.

The ideal candidate will have earned a doctorate in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field and have experience using PLCs. Candidates who have earned at least 18 graduate semester hours in a related discipline and who have significant industrial experience in instrumentation and/or controls are also encouraged to apply. Demonstration of outstanding teaching potential and a commitment to producing high quality graduates with proven competence in instrumentation and controls are expected. Candidates should also have an interest in keeping abreast of developments in engineering technology. Specific areas of expertise sought are PLC/DCS programming and practical interfacing with various industrial measurement instruments, actuators and networks. Fundamental understanding of thermal, fluid, and mechanical systems will be seen as significant assets toward effective instruction in the instrumentation and control of such systems.
