Louisiana Tech was established by the State Legislature in 1894 and is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a Tier One research university among “National Universities” The University serves a diverse population of approximately 12,000 students and 950 faculty and staff.
Responsibilities: This entry to mid-level position will assist in the marketing of LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY locally, regionally, and nationally. Applicants must be willing to live or relocate to the greater Houston area. In addition to serving as a regional recruiter, candidates must also be able to travel extensively throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and other nearby states and represent Louisiana Tech at private high school and community college visits, as well as at high school and transfer college fairs. Successful candidates will be able to promote LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY through special events some of which take place during the evening and on weekends, in addition to working actively with the Houston Alumni chapter. The Regional Recruiter: Houston is also responsible for greeting prospective students and their families at major campus visit opportunities as well as communicating with students and families in their recruiting territories by phone, email, text, and social media.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous experience in college admission or orientation desired
- Excellent communication skills and extremely detailed-oriented
- Strong customer service and people skills
- Experience working with CRMs and Excel a plus
- Proven ability to plan, work, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated interpersonal and team-work skills
- Familiarity with higher education desirable
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Ability to live and work in the greater Houston area
