Applications and nominations are invited for Web Developer at Louisiana Tech University.  The web developer will create and maintain web applications, such as Wordpress, and in-house applications using industry best practices.  Duties include translating wireframes and sketches into working prototypes to refine interface behaviors and working with legacy system back-end developers to integrate front-end and back-end code to ensure design integrity.  The web developer will participate in user-centered research through client focus groups, interviews, usage analysis, and rapid prototyping.


Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (a BS in Computer Science or related field is preferred.  The candidate must have relevant experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience preferred.  Experience with handcoding PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is required.  The candidate must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of responsive web design, proficiency at resolving cross-bowser compatibility issues, and familiarity with creating websites that meet accessibility standards.  Experience with Wordpress content management system and with online monitoring and measurement platforms is preferred.  The web developer must have excellent problem-solving skills, be proactive, and lead through collaboration.  Experience in a higher education setting is an advantage.
