Assistant to the Dean of Graduate School
Louisiana Tech University’s Graduate School invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Dean of Graduate School (ADGS). The anticipated start date is April 15, 2018.
The ADGS will work closely with the Dean of Graduate School in all areas important for the quality and integrity of Louisiana Tech’s graduate programs. The ADGS will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Graduate School including supervision, training, and mentoring of the staff who have direct responsibility for graduate admissions, on-boarding, recruiting, retention, enrollment monitoring, communicating, graduation verification, and other graduate student services.
This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills; strong computer skills including experience with complex systems or software; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team; ability to problem solve by analyzing issues and creating action plans; ability to manage and prioritize projects; ability to comprehend and interpret federal, state, University policies and apply them equitably to a diverse population; strong decision-making skills; and the ability to meet deadlines.
The successful candidate will have a four-year degree, an engaging personality, excellent oral and written communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected.
