Director, Office of Sponsored Projects 

Louisiana Tech seeks a skilled, knowledgeable professional interested in leading the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) in our Division of Research and Innovation. The Director is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the operation of the Office of Sponsored Projects. The OSP offers direct support to faculty and staff in all aspects of seeking and managing external grant and contract funding. The OSP Director will conduct or oversee all pre- and post-award activities, interaction with faculty, other university staff, and communications with external agencies regarding sponsored projects. The OSP Director is also responsible for the production of periodic reports and analytics related to sponsored projects, including providing data for various surveys and university publications, and for ensuring compliance of grant activities with contract guidelines.

A successful candidate for this position will have knowledge of and experience with grant administration and monitoring, compliance, and rules and regulations pertaining to sponsored projects and research, particularly within the higher education environment. Fundamental to the daily tasks in this position is working with spreadsheets, databases, and other software applications for grant management. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential in that the Director manages the OSP staff and oversees a variety of different tasks. The Director also regularly interacts with other Research and Innovation Division staff, faculty from across the university, and external funding agencies public and private. Knowledge of and experience with drafting and review of contracts related to grants and sponsored projects, as well as related data collection, organization, analysis, and reporting is preferred.

An earned Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. A Master’s in a related field is preferred. The position reports to the Chief Research and Innovation Officer. It is a full-time position with benefits, and salary will be commensurate with experience.
