The Division of University Advancement at Louisiana Tech University is accepting applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director for Development. This position will be responsible for securing private support for the University’s athletic programs through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, with an emphasis on major gifts. The officer will provide broad oversight for the operations of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club (LTAC) and Lettermen’s Club activities and provide direct supervision for the Coordinator of Athletic Advancement and the Director of the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club (LTAC).
This officer will work with the University Foundation development team and the Director of Athletics to identify strategies and events for building affinity for Louisiana Tech athletics, provide ongoing development efforts for the University’s NCAA sports teams, and oversee major athletic fund raising and stewardship events. The position will also coordinate alumni and donor events with the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association.
Qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) with three to five years of successful fundraising experience in an educational/athletics setting, experience in conducting successful personal solicitations for annual and major gifts, ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exhibit professionalism, ability to oversee multiple projects, demonstrated competence in oral and written communication, effective collaboration skills, and proficiency with basic office software programs and the ability to learn new programs as needed (proficiency with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge software preferred). The ability to travel and work evenings and weekends is required.
