The Division of University Advancement at Louisiana Tech University is accepting applications for the position of Director of Development. This position will be responsible for leading and managing the development operation of the College of Engineering and Science to increase gift commitments during the comprehensive campaign for Louisiana Tech University. The Director focuses on major gift fundraising for the College of Engineering and Science, including identification, cultivation, establishing and managing effective relationships with major donors and donor prospects and using work plans and stewardship plans to solicit major gifts of $50,000.00 or more (including planned gifts) from individuals, corporations, and foundations, in support of the University’s mission through the Louisiana Tech University Foundation.
The Director of Development will be expected to conduct 12-15 prospect visits per month and assume stewardship responsibilities for assigned prospects. The officer will be expected to become knowledgeable of the University’s programs and priorities to fully engage alumni and friends of the University. The officer will also assist in coordinating engagement, philanthropic, and stewardship activities of the Division of University Advancement.
Qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with fundraising or equivalent professional experience. The successful candidate must have a commitment to higher education, an understanding of Louisiana Tech’s culture, and a strong desire to associate with the University and to champion its mission. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft office software. Some evening and weekend work is required.
